Routing and specialists

Split one agent into several when its prompt has stopped agreeing with itself, route by classifying, and decide in advance what happens to the requests the classifier cannot place.

Orchestrator and workers

One component owns the plan and the others own a bounded task. The hard parts are writing subtasks that are genuinely independent and deciding what to believe when two workers disagree.

Evaluating agents

An agent has a trajectory as well as an answer, and the right answer reached by calling a destructive tool twice is not correct. Build assertions over both, and a gate that fails on any regression.

Observability and cost

Production asks three questions of a pile of trace records. Thread a run id through everything, count failures in buckets that have different fixes, and report cost per completed task rather than per call.
